New Year’s Shoot!

Well, well. We are so thrilled to have these images to share with you. We whipped up this fun little “party table” as a tribute to the New Year. I loved playing with the color scheme of gold, chocolate, bronze, copper… taking those normal cool tones [like black, silver, teal... typical NYE paraphernalia] and translating them into a pallet of warmth for a pile of gooey goodness covered in DETAILS!

I love that some of the shots we captured literally feel like a party is being interrupted. The scattered confetti was a last minute addition and it’s literal PERFECTION!

I found these killer little metallic trees [jewelry holders, actually] and affixed small wooden flower-like pods to the branches for a unique take on a non-floral centerpiece! The party hats, horn blowers, and tinsel wands all got a great modern twist with additions of feathers, corset-wrapped ribbons, and sleek plexiglass sticks. Since I’m all about the simple, clean and modern aesthetic… I found it all divine!

Each place setting received a darling personalized card complete with a “fortune for 2010″ and icon to follow. Everyone’s was different and was definitely a “conversation starter” for the attendees of the party.

The small “burst” salad plates in deep orange/bronze tones were the perfect accent- emulating fireworks and truly bringing in the celebratory spirit!

Amber-toned glasses and champagne were the perfect way to keep the table looking classy. Not sure if you saw, but the shot from above the table shows how we actually set the silverware and cups in a serpentine pattern around the plates. Both the glassware and the silverware were positioned to feel as though they were “wrapping around” the plate- with the long napkin offeset underneath the entire setting!

Combine mercury glass with faux bois… and then kiss me on the mouth! I literally squealed with excitement when I found these candle holders and they’ve been a staple [in our home] ever since. I knew these pieces were the perfect accent. The whole table had the feeling of metal wood, from the centerpieces to the candles- and then all of the “metallic” colors were mostly paper and glass. Go figure! So into it.

And- for more [or different] words on this matter, go ahead and visit the Green Wedding Shoes Blog- she did a great little feature on this shoot!

xoxo,

A.
